It is well recognised fact that Motivation is an important factor to increase the productivity. In a working environment, motivation helps to improve the performance of employees and achieve ascertained goals. But the role of motivation can be overvalued sometimes and we often neglect the importance of working environment. Working Environment is an important aspect for every field. It ensures smooth and healthy functioning of the enterprise. Working Environment means the work space, support facilities, administrative support, tools required to carry out the operations. It plays a huge role in the success of an enterprise.

Motivation is the stimulation of the performance of employees toward the goals of the enterprise. It can either be monetary and non monetary. Monetary motivation is in the form of pay and salary and other financial benefits such as bonus where as non monetary motivation includes promotion policy, job enrichment, cooperative and competitive atmosphere in the enterprise and others. It also includes good and congenial working environment in the organization. Motivation is based on the belief that human behaviour depends on the satisfaction of needs. As the need of a being is satisfied, he moves to a higher level need which causes him to increase his performance and perform better. But after reaching a certain level, satisfaction of need doesn’t induces human behaviour anymore. On the other hand, Working Environment shapes human behaviour. We tend to believe that our habits are a product of our motivation, talent and effort. But our personal characteristics tend to get sharpened by our environment. If someone wants to improve their results, they should operate in the environment that acts like a catalyst and not the one which could hinder them. It is important to remember that environment drives good as well as bad behaviour.

Life is like a game and if someone wants better results and maintain them for a long time, the best approach would be to play the game in an environment that favors the person. Winners often win because their environment makes winning easier.
