SFC Foundations-CHD in collaboration with Ms. Shivangi Kaushik – an Assistant Prof. at Shri. Guru Gobind Singh College for Women Sector- 26, Chandigarh , conducted a webinar session on ”Gender Sensitisation – Time to change the mindset” on 18 April, 2021 (Sunday). The main objective of this webinar was equality and enhancement of gender roles and standards for women and men, alongwith elimination of restricting standards .The webinar witnessed participation of around 100+ attendees, comprising of students and some faculty members of both the teams.
The webinar started with the welcome address given by Mr Satnam , Senior Coordinator , SFC Foundations – Chandigarh. Misuse of laws and stereotypes were discussed where discrimination was not only on the part of women but also for men. The Participants were also made aware to our society’s important – LGBT Community. ” Gender awareness raising intends to change attitudes, behaviours and beliefs that reinforce inequalities between women and men. The laws should be Gender – neutral and society should be equal and welcoming to all – be it men, women or transgenders ” – imparted by Ms. Shivangi.
Finally, the discussion was routed to a Q&A session wherein students put forward their queries and each of their queries was extensively deliberated upon.The session ended on a high note with Mr. Manish Kumar , Project Sampuran Head giving the vote-of-thanks to the guest speaker and to all the faculty members along with the participants who joined the webinar.
