Stop waiting for Friday, for summer, for someone to fall in love with you, for life. Happiness is achieved when you stop waiting for it and make the most of the moment you are in now.” -anonymous
.Have you ever spent a sleepless night worrying over something that is about to happen or brooding over a thing from past? Most of us have. How pity that state would have been… our mind out on a ride to explore the obscure and unforeseeable folds of future and our body struggling against it to find the nectar of sleep. Some might find the above mentioned situation perfectly normal. We are the mightiest of all creatures. How can we expect our highly peculiar brains not to be messy! How can we even expect ourselves to be leading a life of a doggo, whose life’s motto is ‘EAT SLEEP REPEAT’! But don’t you agree that thinking about the unsure future, while compromising the present, that is right here in front of us, is miserable? ‘Now’ is the most delightful entity we own. We should not waste it by repenting over the past or day dreaming about the future. Some people say that sacrificing your now to make a future that’s going to be wow, is no big deal. But do we really need to sacrifice our present? The process to reach that ‘wow’ shouldn’t be something that leads to the exploitation of our present. In fact, it should be thoroughly enjoyed. The hard work that we are putting in, should be celebrated every day. The small triumphs of everyday should not be undermined and postponed for some major future achievement. The real pleasure is hidden in ‘now’. ‘Now’ is life. Future is nothing but mere illusion. An enticing illusion that keeps one motivated to do certain things in her lifetime. You need not to be obsessed with it, your real obsession should be with the reality, that is, present. Now some might argue, that it’s the natural tendency of our mind to float everywhere else and not there in the moment. That’s true! “living life to the fullest”, “making every moment count”, all these idioms are not a piece of cake, when things come to practical application. It’s definitely easier said than done. We need to make sincere efforts to control our wandering mind. We should be mindful of the things that make us anxious and spoil our beautiful today, unwarrantedly. For instance, certain social sites play with our minds by making us envy of others life. That’s the most common way of ruining an already awesome present, in hope for a better or different future, that’s owned by somebody else. One should always remember that “howsoever large resources and opportunities someone may own, they will always get overpowered by a contended and cheerful life…..”
